If we have only panned enough gold throughout history to fill an olympic swimming pool...?
why is it that it is the base of world-wide currency? Should we find some other precious stone/gem that could substitute that we have more of, but that is still rare enough to retain it's value? (I forgot what country it was, but back in the 16th century, one civilization used seashells.)
Question: Yeah, but that would be to hard to contain, (and we have enough things politician like to inhale without having to add another, haha!)
One reason why it is so precious. Shells are not. The more you have of something, the more it decreases in value.
