Silver Plated
Does anyone know of a dip or something to bring back the original colors in gold & silver plated things?
I have some items that are just priceless to me. There are some that are gold plated and some that are silver plated. I had heard there was some sort of color dip you can get to bring them back to the original colors? The things are mostly baby items from all 3 of my kids (picture frams etc.) so I will not get rid of them. I would just like to bring them back to their original color, or as close as I can.
Used to be something called Goddard's Silver Dip years ago. Don't know if it's still around. But it just takes off the tarnish and grime on metal objects, though it does a good job of that.
There are companies which will gold-plate any item for you for a fee. You might find them in the phone book, maybe under 'Jewellers' or 'Assayers'.
